Question samba 3.0.2 as PDC of W2K clients (mandrake 10.0)

I use mandrake 10.0 with samba 3.0.2 and i administer a w2k clients network with some WXP clients and i don't want to use W2K Advanced Server any more.I accept any kind of comments about using another distribution and other samba versions...I have almost 650 machines in my network.I want all the posible information not only to configure the smb.conf file but to configure security (groups and users) and how the security its aplied to the w2k clients....
