Samba's working! Now the about the Client?

Hi,
I got Samba working great both Linux and Vendoze$ see each other. I can access Linux shares through XP just fine.
But on the turn around it keeps coming up saying I need either the SMB Client or SNM Mount started.
I have looked thorugh and can't seem to finad a command or module to activate.

Also is possible to have Linux print through a Vendow$ share?

This is sooo kweeel to this Linux Rocks..
FYI my distro is SuSE 8.2 Pro....

Do you mean that you can not mount a Windows share on you Linux box? Try :

mount -t smbfs -o username=<name>, password=<password> //<server name>/<sharename> /<mount> /<point>

If you need the smbclient it should be on the second CD. There are 3 rpm packages for samba in the Mandrake 8.2 Pro distro.

No you need a directory to mount that network share. They are usually in the /mnt directory. Log in as root and type:
mkdir /mnt/win_share
chmod 777 /mnt/win_share
mount -t smbfs -o username=bob,password=bob //workgroup/win_share /mnt/linux
This should wount the Windows share named win_share to the /mnt/win_share directory.

For some reason I can not get the Samba Client to start. It shows that it is installed but when I tried the above line it come back saying stuff like you can use mount for /dev/...

What is a simple way to start the client and then I think I can Lin Nieghborhood to help me with the rest for now.

There is no command to start the client. You can start samba by typing:
smbd start
nmbd start
There is a command like samba start or restart or stop in Mandrake, but I am not sure about Red Hat. This should let you use all the samba commands.
