Exclamation running 2 instance of apache in one box

hi everybody,

I want to install two instances of apache server of different version in one box. i have installed two versions of apache in two different directories. Configured one of them to run on port 81(default is 80).but the when i start the second apache it says httpd is running and it wont start. one of the apache is running.. Pls guide me which files to edit.?

It seems that the second apache, when it tries to start it finds the httpd.pid or httpd.lock file, so it says that there is another httpd running. Edit the httpd.conf of the second apache to change the filename (or the location) of that file
