rsync - transfer slow - bandwidth limiting?

I am using FC3 with the latest kernel. I just started my back up from work and I noticed that its only transfering at 50kbs and I have a 256K line and at the sever I have a 3m/384 line.

Is there something that would be limiting this? Can someone point me to what I should be looking at.

You might want to try running a traceroute to determine where the connection is slowing down:
traceroute ip.of.remote.machine

David, I can hit my sever within 150MS so I don't think thats a problem. There must be something else thats doing this. Iptables? It should be off, but I just rebooted to try another kernel and I see where it failed. I need to look into this also.

Well I turned off the firewall and it didn't help. I also noticed that it started off at 150kbs and then went to 18 and settled out at 50kbs. Seems that something is wrong on my personal network. I used to not have the problem so I am not sure what changed. I have no bandwidth policys at either location that I know of.
