RS 185-9522 101 Network Hub


hello iv just been given a "RS 185-9522 101 Network Hub" i want to connect 2 computers together both running redhat 9 can some one just give me some basics on what i need to configure to get it up and running please im not asking for a walk through i want to have a go at doing it myself i just want lift on to the first step thanks nige

have not had chance to look at those links yet i will later when my daughter is in bed i have another question i have been looking at Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router and the Wireless-G Access Point is a router just if you want a bigger network if i got say "Wireless-G Access Point" can i just buy the pci cards and i will then have a wireless network

You configure the wireless nics just as you would any other nic. I wouldn't get wireless though unless you have a real need to do so. The only real difference between a wireless network and a "wired" one is that with a wired network you have security - along with a few cables.

hello again this hub iv got has got 5 ports am i supposed to have an ethernet connection from my cable modem in to port1 then a connection from say port 2 of my hub in to the back of computer no1 and another connection from port no3 to the back of computer no2 or have i lost the plot and am completly wrong please help a little bit
