Routing issues - Plz help

Okay, I give up! I looked and modified my device with the correct IP, Netmask, and Gateway. Now where and how do I do an add route default gw 192.168.xx.xx eth0 that will stick after a reboot? I can add this default gateway but can't make it stick.

Please help!!

Thanks,
JB

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Networking and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

As for the actual change: I guess that heavily depends
on the distro you're using. In Slack such changes are
a) either done using netconfig (which will modify
/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 [or /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf] in newer
versions) or b) by editing those manually.

Tink

I am currently running Red Hat Advanced server 2.1

This is the command that I used:
route add default gw 192.168.xx.xx eth0

Now, how can I make this default route to stick??

Thank you in advance.

I'm by no means a RedHat expert ... but:
Have a good look at

/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-ethX
