RHEL Gnome GUI Network Configuration tool

Hi

I've added a new wireless NIC, but it doesn't show up in the Networkd configuration tool. I've gone through the process of installing the drivers (some bugs there ...) but I just don't see it in the dropdown

Eg

Network Coonfiguration tool
>Hardware tab -> click New
>>Choose Hardware Type (I select Wireless, click OK)
>>Network Adaptors Configuration

this only gives me the Adapters that I've had, and not the new ones.

is this normal (it seems useless as it does not allow me to use it with any other products than what it came supporting)

where does this dropdown get generated from?

thanks folks

Don't use the GUI. I actually found that it produces unreliable results. I actually submitted a bug for the system-config-network which Gnome most likely uses to configure the network.

You're better off managing network configs, hosts file and resolv.conf manually.

If you're interested in the bug I submitted and want to hassle Red Hat to push for a fix, view it here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447811

thanks for the tipoff

I'm not under any delusion that there'll be a bug fix anytime soon, so I'll just fiddle fart about with the stuff manually

if only I knew how to do that ;-)
