RHEL 6.7 attached to Active Directory, to show Operating System in AD?

I currently have a Red Hat Server 6.7 attached to a Microsoft Windows Active Directory Domain, it authenticates and domain users can log on. However the machine is not reporting additional metadata to the AD, specifically "OS name / OS version".

Any pointers to what configuration I may have missed?

We would like this so that AD reports could be used to identify Linux machines in our Enterprise.

TIA,
Scott M.

What I was hoping for was a setting in a configuration file such as "/etc/samba/smb.conf" that would enable the reporting of the identified meta-data. Given that the AD recorded the Red Hat computer's name I was expecting a configuration setting that would enable the meta-data, of course Microsoft machines populate this information when they connect. Other file options "krb5.conf", "resolv.conf", "pam_winbind.conf".

This is my first excursion in connecting Linux to an AD.
