RH9 Change IP Address... Which Files?
Hello
I have recently purchased a new VPN router and later found that it will only operate on the subnet 255.255.255.0. As this is different to my current setup, I need to change the IP address and the subnet mask of my Red Hat 9 mail server.
I have installed, Postfix, Apache, MySQL, vsftp and webmin.
What I would like to know are all the files that I need to alter to change the IP address and the subnet.
u may prefer "netconfig" command to configure net. if u wanna change it from file, look at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory. after that restart network. "/etc/init.d/network restart".
yes!
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file is your config file for eth0 interface. just change it and restart network daemon.
but i recommend "netconfig" command: "netconfig eth0"
netconfig calculates broadcast address and network address, and it changes this file for u.
