RFKill randomly disabled my wireless controller (soft disable)

I'm using Arch Linux with Linux kernel 3.7.10-1-ARCH, and my network manager is wicd. Usually I have no problems with it automatically connecting to my home wifi network on my main wifi interfance (wlp7s0).

However, today I noticed the interface was down for some reason. I tried to set it back up with ifconfig, but I was told that rfkill disabled it. After looking at rfkill, I managed to unblock the device and get wifi working again.

I'm curious as to why rfkill blocked the device in the first place. In addition, rfkill also uses different names for the interface. Ie, arch linux calls my wireless interface wlp7s0, however rfkill refers to it as acer-wireless.

Any ideas?
