Reverse DNS zone problem with opensuse 11.1

I'm trying to setup a DNS server.
Everything is Ok, but when i am setting the RDNS zone there is a
answer like
system:~ # nslookup 217.69.2.53
Server: 208.67.222.222
Address: 208.67.222.222#53

** server can't find 53.2.69.217.in-addr.arpa.: NXDOMAIN

The reverse-dns zone builded by yast from the MASTER DNS ZONE, as a MASTER DNS ZONE with 2.69.217.in-addr.arpa.

Configured DNS Zones
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────┐[ Delete ]
│ │Type │[ Edit ]
│2.69.217.in-addr.arpa│Master │
│channel9.gr │Master │

From the DNS server i get
nsserver:~ # nslookup 217.69.2.53
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address: 127.0.0.1#53

53.2.69.217.in-addr.arpa name = hercules.channel9.gr.

Why i can not get the PTR from an another DNS server?

Thanx.

Hi,

Reverse dns is a bit tricky for public IP networks. I guess you don't own the whole 217.69.2.0/24 subnet, so you cannot setup your name server as authoritative for the 2.69.217.in-addr.arpa zone.
From this, it looks like the IP range of your network is 217.69.2.48-217.69.2.63.
So you need to contact your ISP and tell them to delegate you the 217.69.2.48/28 chunk for the above subnet.
Then you can read this document to see what you have to do to configure your 48/28.2.69.217.in-addr.arpa zone.
If you run on problems with this, post your 48/28.2.69.217.in-addr.arpa zone file to let us help you better on this.

Regards
