restore network setting after resart

Hi,
I have a linux box(Redhat 7.2) that i am trying to configure as router. I get two networkcards (eth0,eth1). whenever i restart i lose my eth0 settings(ifconfig -a -> eth0 is down, when i call up, there is no iP,subnet and gateway any longer). For eth1, after i call eth1 up it restors all of the Ip,subnet and getaway settings that i set before. However, in script etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 I have all the ip,subnet, gateway and onboot = yes settings as i set before restart and as for eth1, but after restarting it does not show up on ifconfig -a.

Another thing is that i want to restore my Router table as well. It does restore setting for eth1, but not for eth0. How do i set that after each time restarting box the eth0 router tables settings will also restore automatically?

Thank's
Margots
