resolv.conf overwritten

How do I prevent resolv.conf from getting updated/overwritten with the DNS-servers from the DHCP everytime I boot? I want to be able to change those servers manually, you can say.

Which distro and version are you using.

If SuSe <= 7:

Find 'MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_DYNAMICALLY=' in /etc/rc.config and change to your needs.

If SuSe >= 8:

Same line, but in /etc/sysconfig/network/config

Above action can also be set using yast(2)

Other distro's: don't know.

I'm using Gentoo 1.4. Actually, I just fixed it. (It was nothing but dhcpcd_eth0="-R").
