rerouting verizon DSL port 80 w/ router

i have successfully rerouted to port 8080.
if i plug my machine to the DSL box (via ethernet)
i can access mywebsite:8080
if i use my no-ip.org address, i can get to my machine
as well.

great!

if i plug in my wireless base station,
and use a wireless network,
i can't access mywebsite:8080
it reaches verizon, spins for 60 seconds
and then times out.

i tried no-ip.org, which is rerouting port 80,
hoping to get around verizon but that results
in the same spin and time out.

any suggestions?

Hi,

Look at the settings of your router (and the router's manual), and open ports 80 and 8080 to the local IP of your computer. You may need to "forward" the ports or put the local IP on the router's DMZ. Most routers double as a "firewall" and they block incomming traffic by default.

Don't forget to disable your software firewall.
