request to generate a awk file for NS2 .tr file


hi guys i have a line from my .tr file can anyone write a code in awk script for me so as to calculate total sent packets, total dropped packets, throughput.

Please use ***[code][/code]*** tags around your code and data, to preserve the original formatting and to improve readability. Do not use quote tags, bolding, colors, "start/end" lines, or other creative techniques.


I'm not familiar with this input. Which fields are the packet fields you want? Is there just the one line, or do you need to add up multiple entries? What is the exact calculation you need to do, and how exactly do you want the output formatted?

In any case, it should be easy. For a single line calculation, you just need to put the proper field numbers into the arithmetic expression and print out the result. For a multi-line total, you include a variable to store the running totals in, and print out the final value of it at the end of the file.
