Removing network manager on Kubuntu 15.04
Hi!
I'm trying to remove network manager from Kubuntu 15.04 as I want to set up VLANs on my interface, but when I remove it, it also removes the "plasma-desktop" package which really screws things up! I can't figure out how to either disable network manager or remove it without causing lots of problems. Thanks in advance for your help! |
Hello, I am not an expert with networking, but it will be better if you try to find a way to setup VLAN without affecting NetworkManager. Hopefully, I found a thread in askubuntu with the same problem : http://askubuntu.com/questions/19925...-12-04-desktop. Also, I have found these pages about setting up VLAN : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VLAN and http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/howto-...work-vlan.html which describe how to configure VLAN without touching NetworkManager at all. I hope that this will be helpful.
