Remote SSH login causing system shutdown
I am experiencing a very strange problem in that whenever i try to ssh into my freshly installed suse 9.2 Pro server from a machine on the local network the server will shut itself down. I have reinstalled the server and this made no difference.
I am trying to connect using the putty windows client.
Sometimes it will bring up a login prompt just before the server has started/is shutting down and ask me if i want to accept the key and sometimes it just can't find the server because it is already nearly switched off.
I could really do with sorting this out soon as the server does not normally run with anything else but power and ethernet plugged in.
that's weird. can u paste ur ssh config file, maybe there some sort of protection but i don't know.
hi thanks for the speedy reply.
however i have run an online update to get the latest kernel + all the other recomended packages, rebooted and the problem has gone away. thanks again. steve.
