Remote Desktop from home to office network that is behind SQUID

Dear all,

I want to access my office PC using XP remote desktop or vnc. My office pc is behind squid proxy/firewall and it has private ip.

I need help in configuring SQUID to accept remote desktop/vnc traffice from internet to any specific lan computer in the office.

Thanx.

I do not know how it would be done. Squid can forward the requests from your ip to a specific ip and port though. If you use vnc and configure your office machine to act as vnc server, you can then create iptables rules to forward the specific requests to your office system on the vnc server port.
But you will need administration rights on your squid server as well. Else you will need to ask your administrator to make the changes you want.

There are plenty of softwares available like www.logmein.com which enable you to securely access your machine from browser from a remote network, without needing a public IP. I'm not sure if trying to modify Squid to do this task would be useful.
