So I could just use the IP? As in:

Would that work or would I not need the port number? Also, my Windows laptop is connected to the same router as my computer, but wirelessly. Is there a problem there?

Don't need the port number (remember to enable remote desktop connections in windows first! MyComputer > Remote > check Allow users to connect remotely to this computer)

but wireless doesn't matter, why are you connecting to 127.0.0.1, thats localhost? You need to connect to the ipaddress of your laptop.
