Remote access through router

I have set up a wirless network in my house. Both computers from what I checked are sharing the same IP. Can I access one computer from the other? If so, how can I do it.
Thanks,
Steve

So what you are saying is that they share the IP that your ISP gives you. And from the internet both appear to have the same IP. They can not both have the same IP on the LAN side, this will not work.

Before you can access another computer you need to setup the server. If you want to use ssh then the remote computer needs to be running a ssh-server, likewise if you want to ftp into the remote computer it needs to be running an ftp-server.
