is wget is usefull to transfer a file to remotemachines...

what do you mean, you want to transfer a file? just provide the url of a file and it'll get it, just like anything else you provide to wget...

yeah i guessed that... wget is to get files from http or ftp connections, "wget ftp://blah.com/afile.zip" will download afile.zip from blah.com. that's what wget does (at a basic level)
