regarding dns

hi
i m trying to configure dns server in rh 9.
i have win 2000 server as master and i like to configure rh 9 as slave to this. But when i tried to use it ,the log messages showed that "transfer of zone files from the master(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:53) is refused".
i then tried using netstat to know whether named is listening to port 53. but it doesnt display anything.
it dont get the files in the /var/named diretory which should be copied from the master when the named service starts.

what went wrong?
can anyone find the answer?
thanks
sujatha

Hello

There are 2 types of DNS on Win2K - the ActiveDirectory type and the Standard one.

I am not sure you will be able to become a secondary to the ActiveDirectory DNS.

You will need to Allow Zone Transfers from 2K
