I'm new to linux networking I would like to learn more. Ok, firstly I have a pc that RedHat9.0 installed with Server Mode during the installation. There is 3 mode in linux installation, which is personal, workstation and server. So I want my pc to become a server. From what I install in my pc is installation for server and kde. Assume that 4 pc including my server pc, there is a router and hub/swtich. How do I configure the server correctly without any problem? thanks
What exactly would you want to use your RedHat server for.
What services have you planned to offer?
To share files with XP, you obviously require Samba.
If you want to use it as you own mail server, you will need sendmail and DNS (perhaps)
Apache, if you want to host your webpages.
