try samba and Lin Neighborhood

Try samba and to browse the network use LinNeighborhood which you can find in the net or mandrake distribution.

You'll need the samba client 1st..
Have you registered with up2date?

If so, "up2date -i samba-client" will get you connecting to Windoze networks. Type "man smbclient" for instructions on using it...

Search www.google.com for LinNeighourhood and find an rpm to download. The rpms are an easy solution.
type "rpm -i ~~~~.rpm" to install.
Documentation is on the download site.

Have Fun!
Peter

Question okay I'll hav a look

I can't use the up2date because i don't have the internet in linux. I can mount a network share from the server so i am assuming that samba is working, i am going to try and install the linneigherhood.

ummm also the man pages say that ntfs is supported by the mount command but when i goto mount it says that it isn't, is there somthing i can download to get around this.

thanks for the help so far
