Dude you need to SERIOUSLY chill out, this is not an issue to get upset over. How can your ethernet card be assigned an IP address if it isnt connected to a DHCP server? You have to configure it to a certain IP address. 127.0.0.1 IS NOT an ip address for a ethernet card. If you dont have an ethernet card in a machine, you can STILL PING 127.0.0.1. It is localhost.localdomain WHICH IS the loopback interface.
