red hat 8 networking commands/help
Hi,
I just installed redhat 8 on my old 150mhz computer. Im doing this for the fun of using linux, since it's the only computer that i can have for myself. I have been running Redhat and mandrake before, but only eith Desktop managers, and as you can imagine, trying to run a desktop manager with this old fellow won't be working =) The problem is that cli is kind of a new thing to me, especially when it comes to networking. I wanted to try and make this machine some kind of ftp server on the local network, but i don't know what commands are to be used. I want to be able to check the IP-settings, but as the commands I should use are alien to me I don't know how to do that either. If someone knows a website with lots of commands I would be gratewfull, I love to learn buy trying, thus giving me nothing but the commands is more than appreciated. Please advice, Sebastian |
