Red Hat 7.3 and multiple gateways on multiple interfaces

I'm sorry but i've looked everywhere for an answer, and everything that I've tried has not seemed to work.

I have a Red Hat 7.3 box with two interfaces connected to two different ISPs. How do I properly configure the two gateways so that I can access this box via either ISP from the internet? Let's say I have eth0 at 2.3.3.100 with a gateway of 2.3.3.1 and eth1 at 4.5.5.200 with a gateway of 4.5.5.1. I've tried adding a second "GATEWAY=" line to my /etc/sysconfig/network and I've tried configuring one of the gateways in the /etc/sysconfig/network (by way of "GATEWAY=4.5.5.1") and configuring the other one by adding "route add default gw 2.3.3.1 dev eth0" to my rc.local. Neither has worked.

Please help!

in your net configuration, linux uses only one net device as default gateway. so only one NIC is used to reach internet. so it doesnt mean anything to have 2 default gateways.

if u want to use both device at that time to reach internet, u may want to read http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html

good luck.

This seems to have worked beautifully. Thank you for your help. Now does anyone have any idea how to make this work on a Debian woody box? I installed the iproute package, but I get errors when i run the same set of commands that work under Red Hat 7.3. I get "File Exists" and "Bad Argument" errors? Anyone have any ideas?
