red hat 7.1 iptables error

hey,

i'm trying to start iptables on Red Hat 7.1.
i've erased the iptables rpm that came with the default installation, and update it into 1.2.5-3

i'm trying to use, and if i try for example 'iptables -L' i get:

# iptables -L
modprobe: Can't open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/modules.dep (No such file or directory)
iptables v1.2.5: can't initialize iptables table `filter': iptables who? (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

any ideas?

Hmmm.... did you perhaps install a version of iptables ment for a different distro? I'm not sure where Redhat 7.1 keep its list of dependencies, but it looks as if it might be in a different place than where iptables is looking.

Thats my best guess.
