Realtek PCI-E Gigabit driver

Hi,
I have a ASUS P5B motherboard with a Realtek PCI-E gigabit (10/100/1000) network card. I am running Fedora Core 6 and I would like to know where I can download a driver?

Thanks

I think the module is called r8169? Try modprobe r8169 or pcimodules and it should be there.

Realtek PCI-E Gigabit driver

lspci shows that the Ethernet controller is RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller(rev 01).
modprobe r8169 doesn't show anything. It might be the r8169 but I don't have the driver.

Hiw do I get it?

Thanks

If you do pcimodules it should output all the modules available. You wouldn't download the driver because the driver should already be present in the kernel. I don't know whether or not fedora has the driver compiled in or as a module, but it depends on the person configured the kernel.

OH.. I'm sorry, I read your post wrong, I thought it was regular old PCI. r8169 would be the PCI version of your card, so heh... it wouldn't work.

Could also try modprobe r1000?

Also here:

Reaktek drivers

But I wouldn't know how to install it.

Realtek PCI-E Gigabit driver

Thank you for the pointer to the Realtek drivers. I downloaded the r1000 driver. It came with a README indicating how to install it. Now it works.

Thanks

ASUS P5B motherboard

Yes. The ASUS P5B works very well except for the integrated network for which I could not find a proper driver. I had to purchase another 10/100 NIC.
