Hi, I am experiencing a weird network bug. When I am on my school network, half the times i click a link or otherwise try to establish a link in any way, a dialog pop ups (in mozilla, other errors for other apps) complaining that the "document contains no data". When I press reload, the page usually loads fine, occasionally i have to push more than once.
I though it was a configuration issue, but when I connected through a friend's LAN, the problems disappeared!

It's something about the network here at school, I am sure. But what on earth could it be? The sysadmins are windows-only, and not terribly helpful in any case. Are there any network people out there who have any idea what it might be, and what can be done about it?

I use mandrake 10 c.e from a dell inspiron 5100 with a broadcom 4401 100baseT network card.

My guess is that it has to do with the http proxy setup your school runs. Most schools try to be very restrictive, yet there is no telling how strange their setup might be. That is just my guess from your bugtracking tidbits.
