query regarding ethernet frame support

Hi Folks,
I had a query regarding different type of ethernet frames.like etherner II, ethernet 802.3, LLC, SNAP etc etc.

which is the standard ethernet for machine running tcp/ip protocol, is it ethernet II.

if it is permissible to use other than ethernet II with tcp/ip how can i configure it on red hat 9 linux machine.

Thanks for giving concern on my query
