Querring port 80 for the alert purpose


Hello,
How to write a small script which queries 80 port and gives alert by scheduling it in cron job. Thank you..

There are MANY ways to do this. Please read the "Question Guidelines' link in my posting signature...you don't tell us version/distro of Linux, what script language you want to use, what kind of query, and what kind of alert you're talking about.

There are THOUSANDS of scripts you can find with a Google search that can help get you going, and may already do what you're after. There are also many bash scripting tutorials you can find (with examples), to also help. But, we are *NOT* going to write your script for you...if you'd like help, post what YOU have written/tried, and tell us where you're stuck.
