Question Quagga for Linux Routing without SNAT or MASQUERADE.

Dear Linux Network Experts,

I am trying to build a Linux router which only route the Network packets. The CPU will be equipped with 2 Ethernet Cards. Usually I put the masquerading/snat in the IPTables to make the network packet gone to the other side of the network.

This time I intend not to use them. The Linux box will behave like router appliance (i.e.: Cisco). The source IP would not be masqueraded or snat'ed.

As I asked my local Linux community, some people advised to use Quagga for this purpose. I already built the Quagga and intend to make it as the routing daemon. How to configure Quagga to make it route all of the network packets ?

Any explanation or URLS would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

You've described a bridge. I've never setup a bridge, but I would look at the bridge-utils package, which is probably included in your distribution.

Also, there's lots of information about it here.
