Question PureFTP Automatic startup during boot?

Hi!

Just a short question about the PureFTP server program. I'm bussy putting up an FTP service on my SuSE server at home, and I already managed to succesfully run pureftp, and configure the authorisation, etc.

I only have not really an idea how to put a service, PureFTP specially, in the boot sequence of the computer, including some extra command-line parameters for pureftp.

In the runlevel editor of SuSE I already activated the pureftp deamon during boot, and it starts, but without the extra parameters.
Which configuration file (rc or so?) do I have to edit to get the extra parameters in? I don't have really an idea how the RC-files are organised.

I also saw that pure-ftp has an option to configure using the pure-ftpd.conf file, and then run a script to add it to the boot-sequence. Is this a better option?

Does anyone has experience with this sort of stuff? Thnx already!

Marcel.

Have you compiled PureFTPD from source or you have it from a package?

The script that runs it is probably /etc/rc.d/init.d/pureftpd or /etc/init.d/pureftpd (the two directories are symlinked if they both exist). You should check if the file is clear enough so you can add your options. I don't know how does the script look in this case, so I can't tell you what to modify.

The script doing the configuration is a good idea if you have compiled Pure from source. If not, you may interfere with default config.
