pts/0...


I have slackware 10.2 installed.

Can anyone please explain to me or at least give me a rough idea what is the pts/0, pts/1 .... found inside /etc/securetty ?

pts stands for pseudo terminals. If you run "man pts" there is info about what they are and what they do. They are mainly used for terminal emulation by programs like Konsole, Xterm etc.
