ps -ef | grep iptables gives no result ?

Hi,

I configured and installed iptables succesfully on RH9.

I configure some rules and do /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables start

I see in my NW that my FW is working correctly as I configured it.

However if I do ps -ef | grep iptables , I do not see it appear in the list !
same for ps | grep iptables

Why not / How come ?

you can do

#iptables -nvL

to view the firewall rules.

iptables is not a daemon ... so it will not show up on the ps -ef list.
