proxy is that possible


Hello,

i successffuly installed red hat linux 9.

and now i want to create linux as proxy.

i have an idea how to make...

i just want to know is that possible...

squid would be your standard proxy. http://squid-cache.org

ok, that picture sucks... your linux box has 4 nic's?? do you want a proxy? a transparent bridge? an ip forwarding router?

oh sorry

i never describe about that picture..

actually the line between PC its mean..trafic. The trafic will be route through this waay.
the pc are connected with SWITCH.

actually we have 16 PC lab. and i want to make a proxy server for our LAN. and i dont wnat to make proxy server of internet connecting PC.
and i think is that possible to make proxy server in lan. actually on (client) PC.

well yes, as long as the proxy server itself has direct internet access, or access to an upstream proxy then that's just fine. squid all the way...
