Proper DNS setup

How do i set up DNS properly on my box? What I mean is what are the correct settings I'm supposed to give to netconf.
I have a static hostname and I gave it to netconf along with domain:
pcpXXXXXXX.XXXX.comcast.net
I did not give any aliases to either of the two NICS. But the command line still says:
[root@mybox /]

mybox was the old name i gave the netconf but now i put the proper static hostname in. I did a service network restart but the command line stayed the same.

Hi..

use hostname command to setup the hostname. It will change. then logout and login again.

Check the /etc/sysconfig/network file to be sure everything looks right in it. Also make sure the entry for your machine is correct in /etc/hosts. Then check the /etc/resolv.conf file to be sure the domain is correct there.
