Problems with samba after upgrading to Fedora 1
I have 4 PC's on my home network. Two Windows XP machines and two RH linux machines. The two RH linux machines run 7.3 and Fedora Core 1. The Fedora Core 1 machine used to run RH9 until I updated it about two weeks ago.
After the update I could no longer connect to the samba shares on that server but I could still connect to the ones on the 7.3 server.
Today I have been trying to get everything working like it used to but now I have both samba servers not working.
Below are the global peramiters for the two RH servers.
RH 7.3
[global]
obey pam restrictions = Yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = *New*password* %n\n *Retype*new*password* %n\n *passwd:*al
l*authentication*tokens*updated*successfully*
pam password change = Yes
allow hosts = 192.168.1.50-55
printing = lprng
dns proxy = No
encrypt passwords = Yes
unix password sync = Yes
server string = Samba Server
socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
netbios name = server
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
os level = 40
netbios aliases = server
wins support = true
workgroup = Workgroup
max log size = 1000
The RH 7.3 hostname is 'server' All the computers I am trying to connect from are within the ip range .50-55.
Fedora Core 1
[global]
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
load printers = no
passwd chat = *New*password* %n\n *Retype*new*password* %n\n *passwd:*al
l*authentication*tokens*updated*successfully*
announce version = 2.0
socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192
obey pam restrictions = yes
wins server = SERVER
encrypt passwords = yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
allow hosts = 192.168.1.50-55
netbios name = server2
netbios aliases = server2
printing = cups
server string = Server2
unix password sync = yes
os level = 10
printcap name = /etc/printcap
preferred master = SERVER
workgroup = Workgroup
max log size = 1000
bind interfaces only = yes
pam password change = yes
The hostname on the Fedora machine is 'server2'.
Does anyone see anything obvious here that is setup wrong? Thanks for your help.
