Unhappy problems with router


There are 4 computers in our room.we use a router to connect to the Internet for the 4 computers.My OS is rh9 while other two are windowsXP.Today my roommate installed rh9 in his cell computer and want to connect to the Internet through the router too.It's ok when we pinged the router.Our local area network is well.But It's unreachable when we pinged "google" in his cell computer.What's wrong?Ours all can ping "google" except his.It's really strange.Thank u!

hi, i've just read with the same problem, but anyways....:
can you ping to google's ip?: 216.239.59.99 if you can, then you need to configure your dns address, but i don't use redhat so i'm not sure where you config that.... (/etc/network/interfaces(on debian))

ah ok, so ehm. you have set the IP of your router as default gateway? you can do this also in yast...

else i have no idea (im not using redhat)

to check your routes run the command
Code:
route -n
There should be line similar to the following
Code:
0.0.0.0         192.168.0.1     0.0.0.0         UG    0      0        0 eth0
with the right gateway IP in the 2nd column.
