I've just installed Fedora project 2.
I would like to use the internet under Linux too, but it doesn't work.
I've got a 10/100 Edimax EN-9130TXL ethernet adapter which connects to a Motorola Cable modem (Model: SB5100E-CN)
Under any other OP.systems (such as Win XP) they work together if I set the ethernet card to 10Mbit/sec Half duplex only. (I know that it's an auto sensing 10/100 card, but it's a fact)
Under Fedora my problem is:
I can not initialized (activate) my ethernet card.
Just does not work. If I click on activating: a pop-up come and shows: "Getting IP ...."something".."
After a few minutes it gives an error message, that It could not activate the card.
There is only a text file for Linux on the 3.5" disk. Nothing else.
I would like to ask someone to tell me how to make my card working prop., and how to set it to 10Mbit Half duplex mode.
I'm a VERY beginner, so please write a step-by-step description.
Thank you.
