Do you have a PPPoE connection?
|
i'm not even sure wat the pppoe connection is..
i kno the kppp is the dialer for modem..is dat for dsl or something? |
PPPoE stands for Point to point protocal over ethernet in this is the protocal that most adsl connections use.
To get your internet connection to work make sure that your ethernet card drivers are working. If your ethernet card is working just run adsl-setup and set up your dsl connection just like you did on windows. To start your dsl connection run adsl-start or adsl-connect. |
thanks...i already tried typing adsl-setup
but it comes up as like unknown or not found or something.. where it basically doesnt' recognize that word.. is there anything else i can type in to get into the setup? |
This you try running adsl-setup as root?
