Problems getting XP to see shared printer
 

I have recently installed Mandrake and had Xp running on both PCs. I need to keep XP on the other computer. I have a direct connection to the laptop though a Ethernet card and a crossover cable. Before I changed to linux I was sharing my printer through the network.

I have tried to set up samba cups server to share it but the XP machine wont see my printer. How can I get it to work? I need it desperately!

provide us with some bugtracking and maybe we can help. maybe provide use with the pertenent sections of your smb.conf, and/or your firewall settings (if you have one) etc etc. Provide us with details and you MAY get a solution.

I aslo found that I needed to install the Samba server rpm to get printing working properly.

Newcomer myself - so lots of "trial and error"
