problems connecting to apache

i have an apache server on my linux box, and i am able to connect to the server by typing in my ip address on my linux box it brings up the page telling me that the apache installation was successful.

when i use my windows machine and type in the same ip address i'm not able to connect. is there a setting that i have to do in my linux box to allow other comptuers to connect?

thanks for any help

Are u adding something after the ip number? like:

Check your htdocs folder and make sure you are pulling a present file when on the windows machine. Kinda simple, but maybe.....

Or it might be some permissions module in httpd.conf.

Does httpd.conf have a "hosts allow" setting?

Also: Does your network work properly with other methods (ping, smb, nfs, etc)
