Problem with responding in browsers after connecting to internet
 
hi, When I connect to internet (56k modem extrenal), connection is ok, but I can't get anything in my browser... when I type some host, for exam. google's URL in address line, it show me a message: 'unknown host'... :( Why???

That tells you that the browser does not know how to resolve the domain name www.google.co.uk.

If you're connected to the internet you should be able to go to http://66.102.11.99

Edit your /etc/resolv.conf and use an appropriate nameserver. After this check if you can do a

$ nslookup www.google.co.uk

when I type that IP, konqueror says: 'could not connect to host', I don't understand, how I should change resolv.conf? In resolv.conf I've only some data like this:
search for hinet.hr
servername 192.168.25.25
...
can you please explain with more details if is possible.

another problem
 
in my resolv.conf are dns numbers of my ISP, but now my modem gives some strange dial tone... with same configuration
