problem with resolv.conf file

I am using redhat 9 and I have configured DNS

I remove sendmail and install postfix as my MTA.

without configuring anything I am able to send mail to yahoo and hotmail..

whenever I am online through dial up connection...

it works...I can browse and I can send mail...

But after disconnect...my /etc/resolv.conf file autmatically changed..

then I have to give information of my nameserver again and then my DNS starts working again..

any clue why this is happening....how can I keep my most important file../etc/resolv.conf unchanged...

edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0

change PEERDNS from yes to no.
