Problem with iptables firewall - can't ping machines on internal network

Hi,

I have setup a router using slackware to connect several machines on my local network to the internet via a wireless network adapter using hostapd and a network card connected to my cable modem.

All machines can access the internet with no problem, however the local machines can not ping one another. They can all ping and be pinged by the router.

This is causing a bit of an annoyance as i want to setup file/printer sharing and iTunes sharing.

I've posted my rc.firewall script below, any help resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

As they are all on the same network, the router and firewall have nothing to do with it.

Have a look at your WLAN access point. Some have an option to disallow traffic between clients. Sounds like that is activated in your case.

Thanks for your help rupertwh!

After a quick session with google i came across a tool called 'prism2_param' in the hostap utilities package.

Just did 'prism2_param wlan0 ap_bridge_packets 1' and now everything works fine.
