problem with HC25 3g modem

hi list,
I have a HC25 3G modem on my handhelded develop board.
It uses usb-serial with vendor=0x0681 product=0x0047.
HC25 is reachable over /dev/ttyUSB0.
The issue is that I got no response after sending "ATZ".
thus pppd /dev/ttyUSB0 ends with "Connect script failed".

I tried to debug it by using minicom and accidently found a interesting thing.
pppd /dev/ttyUSB0 works if I have a minicom running ( on any port, e.g. /dev/ttyS1 ).
but if I close minicom, the pppd always fail.

It is really strange, I also tried "minicom -o" and the situation is the same. ( pppd works iff minicom is running )
So what minicom does to make pppd work on /dev/ttyUSB0? ( note minicom is not opening /dev/ttyUSB0 at all, it is opening other port )

I turn on debug flag of usb-serial module, and got below messages when pppd ends with "Connect script failed" ( without minicom running )

drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_open
drivers/usb/serial/generic.c: usb_serial_generic_open - port 0
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_tiocmset - port 0
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_ioctl - port 0, cmd 0x5401
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_ioctl - port 0, cmd 0x5404
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_chars_in_buffer = port 0
drivers/usb/serial/generic.c: usb_serial_generic_chars_in_buffer - port 0
drivers/usb/serial/generic.c: usb_serial_generic_chars_in_buffer - returns 0
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_set_termios - port 0
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: serial_tiocmset - port 0
pxa27x-ohci pxa27x-ohci: urb c774e140 path 3 ep4in 5c160000 cc 5 --> status -62
drivers/usb/serial/generic.c: usb_serial_generic_read_bulk_callback - port 0
drivers/usb/serial/generic.c: usb_serial_generic_read_bulk_callback - nonzero read bulk status received: -62

I appreciate any help and comments.

Regards,
Axel
