Try uploading a simple HTML/PHP script such as:

<html>
<head>
<title>Setup Testing</title>
</head>
<body>
<?php
phpinfo()
?>
</body>
</html>

to root folder of your site and call it something like test.php or test.html.
By loading this script (if PHP is eneabled on Apache of course!) you'll get many valueable info on your Apache/PHP setup.

Of course if you can't see some images but server works - usually it means that either the images aren't there or image filenames in Apache index.html file are misspeled (i.e. jpg susbstituded with JPG ...)

i'm just guessing but did u check permissions on the folders where the pictures reside that are not displayed? or the permissions related to the images not displayed?
good luck

j-ray thx... the directories are 755 and the pics are 644 so they should be accessable to the general public...

I am thinking this has to do with the <Directory > directive in apache... the sites are in users /home/*/public_html directories..

I have added the file types to /etc/mime.types as well as putting them in the httpd.conf file (under php) AddType image/gif .gif

http://lamarre.homeip.net/admin/imag...es/catalog.gif

then in a directory other than /admin/..

http://lamarre.homeip.net/images/stars_1.gif

but when I cp the file to the / of the site it works fine....

http://lamarre.homeip.net/stars_1.gif

thanks all
