Boot from your RH8 Setup Disk 1. at the boot: prompt, type linux rescue.
Follow the menu prompt.
You will get a message that RedHat has rescued your linux in /mnt/sysimage..
At the hash/pound (#) prompt, type chroot /mnt/sysimage
At the subsequent hash prompt, type grub-install /dev/hda
When grub returns you back to the prompt, type exit and restart your system.
